MacDonald Farm Provincial Historic Site

The MacDonald Farm Provincial Historic Site, in Bartibog, overlooks the Miramichi River, far from prying eyes.  To discover its secrets and appreciate the charming scenery, visitors follow a winding trail that leads to the historic homestead.  A tour of the fine stone house, built in the Georgian tradition, in the company of costumed guides will take you back to the 1820’s, when the family of Scottish settler Alexander MacDonald helped to develop the area.  Savour the smells of traditional foods cooked over an open fire, marvel at the embroidery and domestic crafts, and observe gardening and the daily chores of caring for farm animals.
