Saint Michael's Museum and Genealogical Center

The museum houses an extensive collection of civil and church records as well as artifacts depicting the early years.  School yearbooks and photographs of sport teams, students, altar boys, and churches can be viewed. Scenes of sailing ships, Chatham in bygone days and antique furniture belonging to Bishop Rogers and others are displayed at the museums two sites.  The newly completed Shipbuilders Checklist of Northumberland County provides many insights into the history of the Miramichi.  Local books are available on location.  The museum gives tours and assists people with genealogical work.  Many complete family histories are on file for those who are searching for their roots.
